Honors and Awards

At DePaul, I have earned a couple of different scholarships, based off answers to essay questions, academic performance, and financial need.

  • Michella McMaster Endowed Scholarship: I received this named scholarship during the 2017 winter quarter at DePaul. This required numerous essay answers, high academic performance, and a passion for giving back, as it is given to students in the School of Public Service.
  • DePaul Graduate Award: This scholarship is granted to me quarterly based off academic performance.

Throughout my time at Illinois State, I earned some awards that express my passion of journalism.

  • James Noah Editor’s Scholarship: I received this scholarship my junior year at ISU when I was Editor in Chief of The Vidette. This scholarship is given annually to the Editor.
  • Third Place, Editorial: The Illinois College Press Association (ICPA) holds a conference each year for all the colleges across the state and distributes awards based on excellence among them. I received third place for an editorial I had written in 2013.
  • Honorable Mention, Sex in the Birdhouse: The 2013 edition of The Vidette’s Sex in the Birdhouse received an award at ICPA. Although I was not supplement editor at this point, I was Editor in Chief, and as such, I still played a large role in the development of content.
